| House of Newland The House of Newland is a independent Anglo-Scottish royal house, and sovereign dominion. Since it was founded in 1367, there have been 26 monarchs of the House of Newland. The current Head is H.R.H. Sovereign Lord Robert III. The royal coat of arms of the House of Newland (the Escucheon: Or Chief Border) is unique within heraldry as the chief fills the entire field to border the shield, hence its name 'Gold Chief Border''. The chief or 'Royal Chief ' as it is called represents a 'novale' i.e. newly tilled land, tract or furrow. There is nothing more higher than a chief and therefore the field above the chief has been left 'nude' (or new) devoid of all heraldic symbols, hence this clear naked field means: ‘new’. The sovereign gold shield thereby represents a barren field of newly cleared land. Hence ‘New-Land’. The name Newland means: 'Dweller in the newly acquired cleared land'. The gold represents not only 'sovereign' but also the field of the Royal Arms of Scotland. NOTE: The arms of the House of Newland is not to be confused with that of the extinct Scottish House of Balliol which has a blank, empty coat known as 'Toom Tabard', or sometimes depicted as a voided inescutcheon orle. |
Welcome the official website of the Royal House of Newland that provides information about the Royal family of the House of Newland; its history, its objectives and its continuing role of sovereignty. The Royal House of Newland exists as the Independent Sovereign Dynastic Royal Family of Newland - An independent sovereign branch of the line of Scotland's Royal Houses of Bruce and Sutherland. The Sovereign House of Newland was lawfully created by letters patent as hereditary Free Royalty and Sovereign Land (a kingdom in its own right) in the year of 1367, by the authority of the See of Rome, King Edward III of England and King David II of Scotland. Thus meaning: the Land (Kingdom) and the King (Sovereign Lord) are one and the same, together residing in the bloodline of the reigning Sovereign Lord Newland; thus the House of Newland is a sovereign entity under nobilary law and thus classified as foreign royalty.
The Head of the Royal Family is the present Sovereign Lord, His Royal Highness Lord Robert Newland, (King Robert III, Prince Regnant); he is the source of legalization of all the family members and issued titles of the Chivalric Order of The Unicorn; without the Head there is no Royal Family, nor could its members have the privilege of rank and the title by themselves. Sovereign Lord Newland also today holds sovereign status over the caput regnum; a small geological territory approximately one quarter of an acre in size which serves as the Seat and Centre of Administration of the Royal Household.
The Royal House of Newland does not affiliate or involve itself with any other independent sovereign state and does not offer nor require any form of acceptance, recognition or diplomatic relationship with them. The dynastic and political independence is based on our sovereignty itself, which guides our social existence with respect to dynastic and private affairs. It is recognised de Jure by the United Kingdom Government, His Majesty King Charles III (the Head of State of the United Kingdom), the Establishment (Buckingham Palace and His Majesty's officers), and the Vatican State that His Royal Highness Sovereign Lord Robert James Newland, is the reigning Royal Monarch and legal representative of the sovereignty of the Royal House of Newland as well as being a sovereign living man of that sovereignty, yet as Sovereign Lord of Scotland maintains established links of dual nationality to the United Kingdom as well as being a sovereign independent living man thereof, holding the diplomatic privilege of Sovereign Immunity.

King Charles III accepts Lord Newland's Affidavit!

On the 14th January 2025, His Majesty King Charles III was presented with an executive declaration in the form of a legal affidavit made under, and in agreement with the internationally accepted Maxims and Principles of Law, and carrying upon it the autograph and sovereign seal of His Royal Highness Lord Newland, (King Robert III, Prince Regnant) the Sovereign Lord of Scotland. The declaration states that all information and records regarding the Sovereign Lordship and the Royal House of Newland etc. duly presented to the elite establishment of the United Kingdom and its heraldic authorities are wholly true and are fact. We are pleased to announce that His Majesty King Charles III duly elected not to challenge or rebut the facts presented to him, and therefore the affidavit now confirms a formal and everlasting legal agreement to the facts enforceable by law. The main facts outlined being:

H.R.H. Lord Newland, The Sovereign Lord of Scotland, is please to announce that our most noble Knight of the Order of the Unicorn, Sir Dietmar von Anders K.U. is now the proud bearer of the Knight's honour badge pin and the Allegiance honour pin. The Knight of The Order of the Unicorn honor lapel pin depicts the coat of arms of a Knight of the Order with a or crest coronet above, surrounded by a or kötél circlet, which signifies that the bearer is a member of an order of chivalry, upon a glues field, bordered with or Latin text on sable: 'Eques Ordinis Unicornis'. (Knight of the Order of the Unicorn), and the Order's motto, 'Iustitia et Libertas'. (Justice and Freedom). This badge of achievement is to be only worn by Knights of the Order and it should be correctly pinned to the bearer's left hand side lapel. Lord Newland is pleased to announce: On 18th April 2025, Archduke Dietmar von Anders of Bad Malente-Gremsmühlen, Germany, was officially honoured by a grant of Letters Patent, and has been made, a Knight of our most noble order of chivalry, the Order of the Unicorn. And on 30th May 2025 Nils Berg M.U. of Kiel, Germany, was officially honoured by a grant of Letters Patent, has been elevated from a Master Prince to a Knight of our most noble order of chivalry, the Order of the Unicorn. Princess Tayla-Jai Robson M.U. reads message of joy to the nation!
The Order of the Unicorn got a brief mention on the radio on Easter Sunday 20th April when our honoured Princess Tayla-Jai Robson, Maid of the Order of the Unicorn, appeared on Riverside Radio's Sunday Joy program, to read her fabulous poetic message of joy and hope to the nation in celebration of Easter Day. We are so proud to have Tayla-Jai as a member of our most noble Order of the Unicorn and we congratulate her on a job well done!

Happy National Unicorn Day.
April 9th is celebrated as National Unicorn Day, and is the day to celebrate all things unicorn. Also known as International Unicorn Day, National Unicorn Day is an important day in the Royal House of Newland as this year it marks the 5th anniversary of the absolute establishment of the Order of the Unicorn, when the Order's noble code of chivalry became enshrined into the Order thereby making the Order of the Unicorn a true and genuine noble Order of chivalry. Honoured members of the Order of the Unicorn typically celebrate by holding unicorn themed parties, watching unicorn cartoons and films, reading unicorn stories, and flying the Order of the Unicorn flag!

The Unicorn Flag was flying proudly over Fairhaven, Massachusetts, USA on National Unicorn Day (9th April) to mark the start of the annual celebrations! This year Princess Serenitie-Love Truehart M.U. C.C.U and her sister Princess Trinitie-Heaven Truehart M.U. C.C.U. decided to try out their baking skills and make some tasty unicorn cupcakes to celebrate the big day!
They followed an easy simple cupcake mix recipe, but then really got into the spirit of the occasion by turning their unicorn cupcakes into Order of the Unicorn cupcakes by decorating them in gold and black frosting to match the official colours of the Order of the Unicorn, and to complete the unicorn theme they added unicorn horn and ears toppers.
It got a bit messy in the kitchen but they had a lot of fun making these tasty treats, which of course is what National Unicorn Day is all about. Thank you so much girls, we love the photos and your unicorn cupcakes look great! We are glad that you had so much fun celebrating our Order's National Day!

The 13th April is Palm Sunday - the day which commemorates Jesus Christ's triumphal entry into Jerusalem, and marks the start of Holy week and the Easter celebrations. This year it's also the full moon of April, which is called a Unicorn Moon. The weather is looking rather cloudy in England at the moment but hopefully the sky will clear to give us all a great view.
Members of the Order of the Unicorn are invited once again to get your Unicorn Moon photos sent in, the best of which we will display on the website and credit. Have a great time and enjoy this once a year fun celestial unicorn event!

The skies cleared on Sunday evening to give us a spectacular view of the Unicorn Moon which was once again observed far and wide across the world. Many of our members took the opportunity to look up into the night sky to observe the annual Luna event which is fast becoming a fun and popular event for grownups and children alike; some making fun wishes or taking photos, and some just taking the time to enjoy the full moon in all its splendor. The full moon of April was so named the Unicorn Moon, in 2023 as part of the third anniversary celebrations of the Order of the Unicorn, and to also inspire people everywhere to put down their phones for a few minutes to take an interest in the night sky. Photos of this year's Unicorn Moon were kindly sent in by Brooke Fraser M.U. from Scotland and Taelyn Jennings M.U. from Vermont, USA. The next Unicorn Moon will be 2nd April 2026. Mark it in your diaries!

New Cypher of Sovereign Lord Newland!
The long awaited cypher of His Royal Highness Lord Newland has now been officially unveiled and will be in use of immediate effect.
The cypher is Lord Newland's monogram, consisting of the initials of his name, Robert, and title, Rex – Latin for King, alongside three roman numerals denoting that he is the third Robert to hold the position of Monarch of the Royal House of Newland, Surmounted with a representation of the Newland bimetal Gold and Silver Crown of Sovereignty.
The cypher is the personal property of Sovereign Lord Newland and will be used by the Royal Household on official documents and letters etc.

The pedigree of the Royal House of Newland spanning in total 26 Sovereign Lords, over 23 generations has now been officially logged at the College of Arms in London, England and also with Lord Lyon at the Lyon Court, in Edinburgh, Scotland. Our Connections to the Mayflower Pilgrims!
A recent DNA test taken by His Royal Highness Lord Newland has proved to be very interesting. One pleasant surprise to discover is that he is related to US pilgrim pioneer, Mary Howland (nee Newland) who was the wife of Henry Howland Jr. His brother was John Howland who was a passenger on the Mayflower voyage of 1620. Mary Newland travelled later to Plymouth, Massachusetts on either the Fortune 1621, or the Anne 1623, along with her father William Newland, mother Agnes Newland, and brothers William Newland and John Newland. Hence Mary's brother-in-law was a founding father of the USA. So the Royal Newland DNA was there at the birth of a nation!

Princess Tayla-Jai's UOE Modeling Assignment!
Princess Tayla-Jai Robson M.U. age 12 from Pontypridd, Wales recently had a whole lot of fun performing her very first official assignment under the banner of the order, modeling her own personalised Princess t-shirt. Princess Tayla-Jai was so honoured and excited to be assigned the photoshoot that she took up the opportunity without a second thought. Princess Tayla-Jai performed her assignment with great enthusiasm and professionalism, proudly wearing the official 'informal dress/uniform' of the Unicorn Operations Executive, including full honours; Honour badges, Honour Ribbon and the Sash of Chivalry. Tayla-Jai's professionalism and personality really shows. She did an excellent job! Thank you Princess Tayla-Jai for being our fabulous UOE model for the day and we are so glad you enjoyed your assignment. We are proud of you! Many thanks also to your fabulous Granddad Les for all his kindness and helpful assistance in arranging the shoot etc.

Our Prize Draw! - Announcing the Winners!
Our magnificent Order of the Unicorn prize draw with the grand prize of an award of honour, - a Prince or Princess title, has now been drawn and is being heralded as a great success! Our lucky 1st prize winner was Tamasine Blowes from London UK. In fact Tamasine must have been born under a lucky star as she also won the 2nd prize of 50% off any title aswel! Our lucky 3rd prize winner was Christine Cooke from Gwynedd, Wales, UK who will receive 35% off any title, which she is going to give as a surprise to her granddaughter Brianna Cooke.
The prize draw was undertaken as part of the Order of the Unicorn's 3rd year anniversary celebrations, and also to raise funds for fellow Princess of the Order of the Unicorn, Sara Mae Villa M.U. age 22 from Missouri USA, who has been seriously ill these past few years with the rare life debilitating condition called SMAS (superior mesenteric artery syndrome).

In fact so committed were they with the task in hand, that they even dedicated their recent dance recital, The Greatest Show, in which Princess Trinitie had the staring role of the Showman P.T. Barnum, to Princess Sara Mae with a banner and a wonderful page dedication to raise awareness of Sara's Go Fund Me Page.
Lord Newland sends his warm wishes of congratulations to all the winners and thanks everyone who kindly participated in the event which was a great success. Dance of the Unicorn Colours - Legend of the Unicorns
Budding dancers, Princesses of the Order of the Unicorn Serenitie-Love Truehart M.U. age 12 and Trinitie-Heaven Truehart M.U. age 11 have taken celebrating the Order's 3rd year anniversary celebrations to another level by combining their unicorn flags with their dance skills to create a beautifully choreographed dance display of the Unicorn Colours. For the dance they wore sparkling costumes of gold and black to complement the Order's Colours and danced to a beautiful piece of music called 'Legend of the Unicorns' by Brandon Fitcher. We love it! It is such a lovely artistic dance! Thank you so much girls! You have done a fantastic job! You are a credit to the Order and your services to have not gone unnoticed. Therefore it is with great pleasure to announce that Lord Newland has awarded each of you the noble distinction of 'Colour Commander', which is a new honour that can only be awarded to titled members who have done great deeds of service to the colours. We thank your mother Mrs Lori Truehart for her kindness and sending in your dance video which we have made into a special Order of the Unicorn feature. Watch it now!
New Honours of the Order of the Unicorn
As part of the Noble Order of the Unicorn's 3rd year celebrations, two new honour have been officially introduced to the Order, that of: 'Knight Commander' and 'Commander of the Colours', These titles of distinction are only awarded to those members of the Order who have achieved great deeds of service to either the Order or the Royal House of Newland or the Order of the Unicorn colours. A Colour Commander title could be awarded for anything like; flying the colours on a challenging expedition across the world, such as a trek to the South Pole, or up the Amazon, or to raise the colours at the top of the highest mountains etc. Or as Princesses Serenitie Truehart M.U. and Trinitie Truehart M.U. have done with their wonderful dance display, do something extra special and unique to fly or utilizing the unicorn colours to raise awareness and to promote the Order of the Unicorn. We therefore congratulate our maiden princesses of the unicorn, Serenitie-Love Truehart M.U. and Trinitie-Heaven Truehart M.U. on each being awarded the high honour of 'Colour Commander' of our most noble Order of the Unicorn.
New Illustrious Awards of Honour!
The bestowing of awards of honour has long been an established traditional part of Chivalric Orders and the Order of the Unicorn is no exception to this rule. It is therefore with great excitement to announce as part of our continuing 3rd Year celebrations, the release of our very own official associated awards of honour in the form of honour badges! The honours also include: Honour Ribbon and Honour Sash which traditionally signify that the bearer is a member of an order of chivalry. Honoured members of the Order may now officially proudly bear their associated awards of honour!
